About El Pirrin

El Pirrin stands as a vibrant jewel in San Jose’s Mexican culinary scene, located conveniently on E San Antonio Street. This restaurant embodies authentic Mexican flavors with a focus on fresh, homemade dishes that evoke the warmth of traditional home cooking. Upon entering, you’re welcomed not just by the inviting atmosphere, but by a staff that treats you like family, adding a personal touch that enhances the entire dining experience.

The standout here is undoubtedly the seafood offerings, especially the Vuelve Ala Vida cocktail-a lavish mix of shrimp, octopus, abalone, and oysters that delivers layers of briny freshness and satisfying texture. Seafood lovers will find themselves enchanted by the generous portions and quality, like the perfectly seasoned camarones al mojo de ajo, where large shrimp burst with garlicky richness.

Then there are the tacos, each a small masterpiece of traditional Mexican fare. From the tender Taco de Lengua to the crispy, flavorful Taco de Chicharron, every bite tells a story of careful preparation and authentic seasoning. The Taco de Al Pastor offers that classic balance of savory pork and subtle sweetness, while the grilled Carne Asada satisfies with smokiness and robust flavor. Portions are street taco-sized, encouraging you to sample widely and savor the diversity.

El Pirrin also shines with its selection of imported Mexican drinks. Sipping on Mexican Coke or a refreshing Jarrito in flavors like tamarindo and lime complements the meal perfectly, lifting your taste buds and keeping the authenticity intact.

What truly sets El Pirrin apart is not just the food but the heartfelt hospitality. Regulars speak of being remembered and welcomed back like old friends-a testament to the team’s commitment and care. This blend of delicious, authentic dishes and warm service transforms each visit into more than just a meal; it becomes an experience to cherish.

In summary, El Pirrin is a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine Mexican cuisine in San Jose. The rich seafood cocktails, robust tacos, and inviting ambiance provide a satisfying and authentic taste of Mexico. It’s a place that promises not just great food, but a welcome that keeps you coming back.

Big burrito served hot off the grill, covered in flavorful sauce and melted cheese. Smelled amazing, tasted even better, and was super filling. Definitely a meal worth coming back for.

Food is always delicious..was my go to place when we lived in San Jose..so now we travel down here so we can eat some good food.. waitress is very nice..she remembers us from the last couple years..she deserves a raise!!

Homemade food away from home. San Jose vacation was a hit after a nice weekend with this gem. Rosie was one of the ladies there that helped us. Everyone greets you coming in and says goodbye leaving. We loved it.

I'm always skeptical about going to a Mexican restaurant since I am Mexican myself and can cook. I was recommended by a friend to try it out, so I did...and boy oh boy it didn't disappoint at all! I had a shrimp tostada and a plate of camarones al mojo de Ajo. Fresh delicious and they use huge shrimp! Great flavors, perfectly seasoned. My friends had a shrimp cocktail, full of large seafood pieces, so big she couldn't finish it. My other friend had the Chile Verde, perfectly seasoned, so tender it melted in your mouth. Great service, great atmosphere especially if you're craving that homemade cooked meal feel.

Great portion sizes and prices. Has a nice patio for outside seating. The waitress was very nice and helpful. Plenty of menu options. The pozole soup was tasty with pleanty of toppings to add. The next day leftovers were even better. Tons of meat. The tacos were street size. The fried pork was the most flavorful to me. The steak was good and the chicken was just ok to me. The chips and salsa were decent but nothing exciting Overll good experience I'll be back for sure.

Love this place ,I don't live here anymore yet this restaurant has been here since I was a little girl.

I like it is like eating that home flavor we will come back
